DCRE Labs has a continuing interest in developing new technology for use by the Deaf Community. Our recent endeavours have focused on web-based technologies and their role in signed communication.
Our first product release is an animated finger-spelling generator. Using this system, the user simply types in a word and the generator creates an animated GIF that fingerspells the word using the ASL handshape alphabet. The GIF image is suitable for downloading and using in any web page and is available by using the form to the right.
